The Hurt Locker

Avatar is to The Hurt Locker as panel-van art is to art.

Avatar is to The Hurt Locker as a movie about a war set 150 years into the future and on another planet which is basically still just a bunch of cavalry charges only with exoskeletons lumbering helicopter machines and monster alien dinosaur monsters is to a movie about a war that’s actually occurring right now but which somehow seems much more futuristic than the first war I mentioned, which war, the first one, is also depressing because despite being 150 years into the future and with monster aliens etc is somehow being conducted by exactly the same society we are living in right now, with marines called “jarheads” and shareholders and so on.

Avatar is to The Hurt Locker as a fluorescent pink My Little Pony unicorn toy with a piece of scrap paper taped to its side which says “War is Bad Sometimes” is to a really good movie.
